This story centers on a lonely woman who had long wished to have a child she could love and care for. One day, after countless years of wishing, she found that her dreams had come true. Her daughter was the tiny little Thumbelina. The women loved her dearly but soon after receiving her, little Thumbelina drifted away down a river when a water lily she was sitting atop broke off. This would be the start of a fantastic yet danger journey for the little girl, one she may not come home safely from.

The Thumbelina – a centuries old folk tale popularized by the Brothers Grimm – has gained a number enhanced storytelling features during its transition to the iPad while staying faithful to both the tone and content of the original story.
